What's next for Brazilian Pulse?

MELBOURNE Cup-winning trainer Mike Moroney has a problem regarding the Sydney target for his VRC Oaks winner Brazilian Pulse, which beat up on the fillies at Rosehill yesterday.

Does Brazilian Pulse head towards the Doncaster Mile at Randwick on April 9 or start in the AJC Australian Oaks on the same day? What about taking on the colts and geldings in the AJC Australian Derby? Nothing has been ruled out.

I always think two Oaks looks better, the filly's jockey Craig Williams said after she won as favourite in yesterday's Keith Nolan Classic. She was great today - what she was asked to do, carry 58kg, second-up and going the Sydney way the first time was special and it'll really help her.

Happyandunoit is probably the best filly I've had but this one is not far behind, Moroney said. Like her, she is competitive at all distances.

Moroney was pleased Brazilian Pulse was nice and relaxed and more than happy knowing she had a little in hand.

Craig gave her a couple with the stick and then put it away, he said. She had a lovely run for three-quarters of the race until she got shoved off the track at the turn. If she was going to to do anything wrong that would have been the time, so I'm happy with that.

He said Brazilian Pulse was a quality filly quite capable of running any distance and was smart in the head. If she doesn't go to the Oaks, the Doncaster is plan B, he said. We've even given a bit of thought to boxing on to Queensland with her.

Brazilian Pulse was parked one out one back by Williams until she was shifted off the track at the turn but still proved too strong for runner-up Fibrillation.
