Two Runners, Two Stakes Events

All eyes are on Flemington with the postponement of today's Rosehill meeting and we look forward to cheering on two very nice, very promising young horses - Eeteedee and Oak Hill - in stakes contests.

Kicking off our day in the third race, the Gr.3 TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes is the lovely Strasbourg filly Eeteedee (pictured, Racing Photos) who impressed leading throughout at her Ballarat debut before a brave run from a tricky wide gate in the Showdown.

Today she jumps from the outside barrier down the straight where she has had practice in the morning. Her work this week has been good which has Glen hopeful that she can earn valuable black-type.

"She heads to the races in great order and this looks a nice race for her."

"She has been up the straight before and Declan Bates knows her well. He can have her where she is comfortable up on the speed somewhere and she should give this a mighty shake."

The exciting four-year-old Oak Hill steps up in class in the sixth event, the Listed ATA Bob Hoysted Handicap and we are looking forward to seeing him measure up.

"He had a nice jump-out at Flemington last week and has done very well since," Glen reported.

"We have stuck to the same routine as before his last couple of runs and we think he is ready to run really well again."

"It is obviously a step up in grade but I think he is definitely up to the task."

The winner of two of his three starts this time in, Oak Hill can still do a few things wrong - not being the easiest horse to ride - but we hope he settles well for Daniel Stackhouse who is having his first run on the gelding, getting to know him in the jump-out.
