GIRLS DAY OUT AT KILMORE

Two runners for us during the day at Kilmore on Friday with Midnight Music and Seattle Dancer taking part and then Old Time Rock at Moonee Valley later tonight.

Seattle Dancer is the first to go when the Redoute’s Choice filly runs in race one, the 3YO Fillies Maiden over 1100m and jumping from barrier two under Billy Egan.

It is the first start this preparation for Seattle Dancer which finished a promising fourth on debut over 1000m at Ballarat in April.

“She’s got good gate speed so the draw will suit and she should be right on pace.” Moroney said.

“She’s very fresh and we’ve cuddled her a bit to get her here without busting her boiler.

“There’s natural improvement in her and whatever she does she will improve on but she’s fit enough to be running well.”

Midnight Magic runs in race five, the benchmark 58 handicap over 1450m with Jamie Mott in the saddle.

The New Zealand import is ready to run well after two races this campaign.

“She has a few things in her favour, she’s got conditions to suit and she’s the fittest she has been.” Moroney said.

“The draw is a little awkward in seven but it’s a smallish field of 10 and with the way she has worked since her last start I will be disappointed if she doesn’t run well.”

Old Time Rock is our other Friday runner at Moonee Valley tonight when he runs in race two, the benchmark 64 handicap for three-year-olds over 1200m with Lachlan King reducing the weight to 58kg.

“It’s only a small field of six now after scratchings and we’ve decided to run,” Moroney said.

“He looks magnificent but I think he’s better suited on softer ground - we’ve claimed to help him and if we did happen to get a shower of rain it will definitely help his chances.”
