Shares Available in Quality Alamosa colt

One of the most telling and appealing factors when Mike and Paul assess and consider a prospective yearling, is their ability to identify physical traits that are parallel or comparable to that of successful racehorses in the immediate and extended family.

Decades of knowledge and time spent in the industry has given them the ability to accurately pin point relative and comparative features which has ultimately resulted in them securing well-priced individuals that perform at the highest level, and we think this colt fits that same mould.

You won’t come across many grey sons or daughters of champion racehorse Alamosa, so when this striking young colt presented for inspection, there was no doubt in our minds that this well conformed, strong and balanced individual matched the physical attributes to that of his family, and boy, what a family it is! This lovely colt is from the unraced Volksraad mare, Cold Shoulder, who in turn is a half-sister to Gr.1 VRC Derby and Melbourne Cup winner Efficient and the Gr.2 winner, now sire, Guillotine.

Both racehorses were well credentialed on the track, and were both grey, and it is also important to note that other stakes winners who fit the mould, and are grey, in the family include Reused To Dance, Dancing Flojo and Florida Jig.

While Cold Shoulder has not experienced much luck in the broodmare role, her credentials could soon be about to change through the efforts of her Zabeel daughter Cool Tart - a half-sister to this colt. Trainer Roger James has already dubbed her Group 1 class and is on target to competing in the Gr.1 New Zealand Oaks over 2400m next month and will be racing in the Group 3 Lowland Stakes on Wednesday at Hastings.

This colt is all quality and boasts many of the physical attributes that his successful family members have illustrated on the racetrack! This family has produced horses that have had the ability to perform over shorter distances, and eventually develop and mature into competitive runners at the mile/middle distance.

THE ALAMOSA X COLD SHOULDER COLT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE BECAUSE:

- He has been identified as possessing similar physical traits to that of some very well credentialed gallopers in the family including multiple Gr.1 winner EFFICIENT and stakes winners GUILLOTINE, DANCING FLOJO and FLORIDA JIG.

- He is by Gr.1 producing sire ALAMOSA and derives from an extremely fast and versatile family that have produced black-type sprinter/milers that have gone onto to be competitive at the highest level in middle distance to staying races.

- A smooth walking, atheletic and naturally muscular muscular colt that is a half-brother to COOL TART - a filly that Roger James has labeled a Gr.1 galloper in the making.

BALLYMORE STABLES IS THE RIGHT STABLE BECAUSE:

- Michael Moroney is one of the most successful trainers in Australasia boasting 48 individual Group 1 winners to his name, over 200 Group and Listed winners, over 2000 winners and accumulated over 30 million in prize money.

- Co-trainer Chad Ormsby is one of the most skilled horseman in the country and reports exactly how your horse is feeling from the hot seat. Chad has also celebrated good success during his short time in training which includes Gr.2 Wellington Cup winners GRAPHIC & MISTER IMPATIENCE, Gr.3 winner SURPASS, Listed winners FLAVIGNY, MAE JINX, SAVVY DANCER and Gr.1 placed LE CHOIX.

- The team at Ballymore ensure your racing experience is a close and personal one by providing many forms of communication including video, audio, verbal and written reports.
