Asadauskaite Queensland Bound

A trip to Sydney proved fruitful for promising filly Asadauskaite who was so impressive racing away to a 3¼ victory in the Get Racy Plate at Randwick on Monday.

Unlucky (protesting unsuccessfully) when a game second at Bendigo at her previous outing, Asadauskaite had a great formline with the horse who only just beat her that day – Best Yet To Come – winning at Listed level at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Despite that Asadauskaite was sent out at a nice price on Monday, rewarding her supporters with a dominant performance.

Missing the start with the in-form James McDonald aboard, Asadauskaite quickly recovered to make up ground along the rails – ending up in a nice position behind the pace.

For a few strides rounding the turn she looked to be in trouble with a wall of horses in front of her but she quickly gained the split – and as soon as it came she was away.

Joining the lead at the 300m, Asadauskaite proved a class above her rivals and McDonald was impressed by the way in which the still lightly raced filly settled.

“She travelled really kindly,” he said.

Always well regarded by the stable, Asadauskaite appreciated a step up to 1800m at Randwick and we are confident that she will even better over further with the Queensland Oaks her target.

Cleverly named after a Lithuanian Olympic gold medal winning pentathlete, Asadauskaite is a daughter of Gold Circle who hails from a prolific black type family – one in which the sporty name theme runs through.

Circles Of Gold, Haradasun and Elvstroem for example. And Asadauskaite can also boast amongst her relations the likes of fellow Group One winners Starspangledbanner, Markus Maximus and Bit Of A Skite.

By Pentire with whose progeny the stable has enjoyed such great success, Asadauskaite is raced by J W & Mrs D E Purchase, K W Purchase, P V & Mrs L M Antonieff, B W & Mrs E Harry, C A Lord, J M Mewis, G Singh, M J Stapleton, P J & Mrs D K Ward, the Levinson Racing Syndicate and the Seriously Racing Syndicate.
