Australian campaign for Postnthyme

Talented filly Postnthyme has been given the green light on an Australian campaign and will fly the Ballymore flag at stakes level in Sydney at her next start.

Cementing her trip across the Tasman with a super impressive 2-length win at Counties, Postnthyme boarded the plane on Monday and has been nominated for Saturday’s Gr.3 Adrian Knox Stakes.

Co-trainer Chad Ormsby reported that the three-year-old Pins filly is in great order ahead of her Australian assignment and the stable are upbeat about her chances of claiming some autumn carnival spoils.

“We put her on the float bound for Auckland Airport today (Monday) and she looks an absolute picture” said Chad.

“She has been nominated for the Adrian Knox Stakes at Randwick this Saturday but the final decision on her starting will be made on Wednesday following her gallop”.

Raced by Phillip and Catherine Brown, Barry Neville-White, Phillip Grimsey and Ballymore Australia LTD, Postnthyme has emerged as a filly with a bright future, and has already accumulated two wins and three placings from as many raceday outings.

“Postnthyme has really put her hand up in her five starts to date and there is plenty more to come from her” said Chad.

“She definitely deserves a crack in Australia and she will have our NZ team cheering her on for sure”.

Interestingly, an Australian campaign was pencilled in for Postnthyme long before the filly even stepped out on the racetrack for Ballymore. Spotted by Paul Moroney as a two-year-old, Postnthyme was duly secured and labelled as an ideal Queensland Oaks type, with Moroney making comparisons to the Ballymore-trained Eskimo Queen, who won the Gr.1 feature in 2007.
