A run of winners

The stable had been in great form of late with three recent strong winners.

At Moe on November 23 the in-form He’s All In won his second in a row, having been successful at Warrnambool on Oaks Day he held his form rising in both class and distance.

Stepping up to a 2069m ratings 62 race, the tough son of Golan overcame an awkward start and trouble in running. With nowhere to go approaching the turn, he gained a split straightening up and once clear raced away to salute by nearly a length.

“It was a strong win,” Michael Moroney said, “and Luke Currie said that he will get even further.”

Congratulations to owners Matt Fraser, Dennis Coombs, David Sharpe, Bill Vasilopoulos, Michael Antill, Peter Walker, David Morgan and Nolene Watson who have been patient with the slow maturing six-year-old.

Three days later at Mornington Yaseen The Light was a very easy winner at his first run since May.

Recording the third win of his ten start career, the game mare was always in control after making the pace – showing plenty of heart after being tackled by a riderless horse at the 500m.

Proving just too fast for her rivals, Yaseen The Light proved a dream start for our apprentice Audrey Guillemin who was having her very first ride!

Congratulations to her and to owners Dilshan & Ayesha Fernando.

And also to Richard Pegum whose talented galloper Syndrome (pictured) was back to his best with an easy victory at Sandown last Saturday.

Working to the lead, the handsome chestnut was joined at the 900m and headed but he was always travelling well – racing away over the final stages to win by an impressive five lengths.

“He was just too good,” Moroney said, adding that “he appreciated being on a bigger track and he enjoyed the wet conditions.”

A five times winner from 17 starts, the son of Ishiguru has amassed over $190,000 in stakes and with that confidence booster should be ready to go right on with it.
