What a week!

Last week we had horses lining up to race on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"It was a hectic week but looking back on it I am pretty happy with how our team performed" Andrew said.

On Thursday, at Tauranga, first starter Revelator ran a good strong race to finish 5th, while Connie Be Good ended up 4th and Kiwi Spirit flew home to finish in 3rd position.

The team then headed up to Pukekohe on Friday where Chicharita started off her campaign in fine form by winning very impressively. Her rider Chad Ormsby commented "she is still a bit green but is a really smart filly. She won convincingly and I think there is a lot of natural improvement in her".

We then headed down to Hastings on Saturday with Slashing and Kaptain Kirkup. Jockey Craig Grylls rode Slashing well, but was interfered with mid-race which resulted in Slashing not rounding off his race well as we had hoped. However, his stable mate Kaptain Kirkup put in a gallant effort first up over 1200m to just be beaten by The Hombre. " Kaptain Kirkup is one to watch this season, he has now settled well into NZ and I think he’s set to rekindle his off shore form" Andrew commented.

To end the week we headed off to Te Rapa. Our first runner was Ghostinthemachine who drew badly and unfortunately couldn’t find clear running space so he ended up placed 5th. Our next runner Fly Silca Fly was also not blessed with luck and was held up to end up 6th.Gospel was our final runner and he managed to close the week in fine style by kicking of this campaign how he ended the last, with a win. Gospel won very impressively beating home our stable apprentice Harry Kasim who rode Green Supreme into 2nd position.

Andrew enthused “Overall I was really happy with how the team went. Chicharita and Gospel were both impressive winners and Kaptain Kirkup was unlucky not to be a winner also. Our apprentice Harry Kasim rode some great races and is making great improvement. Well done to the connections”
