A BUSY NIGHT AHEAD AT PAKENHAM

A busy night ahead of us at Pakenham with four runners including Tofane’s sister on debut.

First Appearance is in the fifth race over 1400 metres with Jake Noonan aboard and the three-year-old has pleased Mike Moroney ahead of her first race start.

“I’ve been pleased with her jump outs and work leading into this and I feel the distances is a good starting point as she has shown she will be better as the distances get further,” Mike said.

“She should be suited by the track and I don’t think the soft ground will be an issue.

“I will be happy to see her finishing off strongly and will not be at all surprised to see her run into the placings.”

Kowhai runs in the fourth race over 2000 metres under Billy Egan.

“She should also be suited by the track and the step up to this trip appears to be what she needs,” Mike said.

“I’m pleased with the way she has worked leading into this run and she also has the benefit of a senior rider in Billy Egan so with ordinary luck in running she is an each-way chance.”

Stylish has her second start this preparation in race five over 1400 metres with Blake Shinn aboard.

“She will strip fitter for tonight and appreciate the step up in trip,” Mike said. “Her work leading into tonight has been very good and she placed at her only start on a soft track.

“With reasonable luck in running I rate her a strong winning chance to break her maiden.”

Metrical (pictured) rounds out the night for us in race seven over 1600 metres with Blake Shinn riding and he too will be suited by a soft track.

“His work has been good and he will appreciate the cut in the ground for sure,” Mike said.

“The scratchings have him jumping from barrier two with the rail out nine metres tonight.

“He’s in good order and I expect him to prove hard to beat.”
