A trio of Ballymore winners

It has been a busy and successful couple of days for the Ballymore team with three winners - Noble Park back in form at Sandown on Wednesday whilst Major Coup and Crimson Lady snared us a double at Ballarat on Thursday.

Having only his second run since last winter, Noble Park raced a touch keenly early in the Cove Hotel Handicap but he was always travelling like the winner - nicely handled by Nick Hall.

"It was good to see him back in form," Michael Moroney said.

"He has looked well this time in whereas in the spring he was never quite right. There is a nice 2000m race at Flemington coming up for him."

Raced by Rohan & Kate Aujard, Rhett Tregunna, Paul Williams, Allison Cratchley, Rod Whinfield, Patrick Pinnell, Peter Pinnell, Rupert & Cheryl Legh Racing and Gurners Bloodstock Co, Noble Park is by Pins from the great Denise's Joy family.
He has had only eight starts - winning four of them.

Debutant Major Coup created a good impression charging home from well back to take out the 1400m maiden at Ballarat on Thursday.

A horse always liked by Ballymore - "we bid on him as a yearling but ran out of money!" Moroney said - the son of Savabeel trialled well in New Zealand and was then purchased by us on behalf of Giuseppe Del Mastro, Gerard Van Ameyden, Geoffrey Sharp, Andrew Dale & Versace Racing, McGrath Racing, Puzzle Racing, Rba Racing, Pink & Frikkers & Ironbar Syndicates.

"He is a nice staying horse," Moroney said, noting that his Gr.3 winning dam Justine Coup won up to 2400m.

"We have had to be patient with him," Moroney added - "he didn't settle in when he first came here so we had to turn him out again."

Drifting back to midfield after jumping well, Crimson Lady was behind a wall of horses approaching the turn in the Fillies & Mares Mile event later in the day - gaining a split in the straight and getting clear late to win by nearly a length.

Twice successful from just four starts, the well related daughter of the late Volksraad is raced by the Ark Syndicate, Dino Cellini, Gary Jackson, Jeremy Laird, Peter Marshall, Rodney Grohn and Anthony Warner.
