AMORAMIO'S AUSTRALIAN DEBUT

Falcon Of Malta and Amoramio bid to keep our winning run going at Ballarat today.

Falcon Of Malta gets a chance to improve on his promising debut when he starts in race two, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1600 metres with Fred Kersley aboard. The son of Fiorente ran full of promise when runner-up to Queen Air at Warrnambool at the beginning of the month and Mike Moroney

“He’s not the sharpest on the track but he’s done well since his first start and I’m happy with him,” Mike said.

“If he can repeat that Warrnambool effort I think he will go close to winning.

“He’s going to make a nice staying sort and I’d like to think he can get to better races than today but with ordinary luck I think he will run very well.”

Amoramio (pictured) makes her Australian debut in race six over 1100 metres where she will jump from barrier one under Fred Kersley.

“She only has four to beat after scratchings but two of them are last start winners so it is still a pretty handy benchmark race,” Mike said.

“She’s been racing well in decent company in New Zealand and has arrived here in excellent order with Pam and her team doing a terrific job.

“Always hard to line up the form but our mare is fit and well, the small field will make it a tactical affair but she always tries hard and it will be interesting to see where she fits into things here.”
