TWO LAST START WINNERS RUNNING TODAY

Two last start winners running for us today in two states with Tokorangi in Adelaide and Milford closer to home here at Caulfield.

Tokorangi (pictured) runs in the sixth race at Morphettville, the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes over 1600 metres with Mark Zahra again in the saddle and Mike Moroney says the mare has travelled over well.

“She’s there in good order and settled in and we could not be happier with her,” Mike said.

“She’s come out of her excellent first-up win at Caulfield in terrific order and her piece of work on Tuesday was excellent.

“It’s a harder race today obviously but she has drawn nicely and proved she is up to this level with a Group Two victory in New Zealand and with ordinary luck I expect her to be hard to beat today.”

Last start Easter Cup winner Milford runs in the last race at Caulfield over 2000 metres with Patrick Moloney retaining the ride.

“We scratched from the Warrnambool Cup to miss a heavy track and I’m glad we did,” Mike said.

“He’s up in weight but down in grade and he’s done particularly well since his last start and he’s nice and fit.

“The low draw makes it interesting for him in a field of 16 however, if they run along like they did at his previous start then that should give him the opportunity to get out into clear running early enough and if that can happen I’m sure he’s a great winning chance.”
