AIMING TO KEEP THE WINNING RUN CONTINUING

Another mix of day and night runners for us to keep our winning run continuing today at Kilmore and Pakenham.

Maly Malt is our first Kilmore representative in race two for fillies and mares and Mike Moroney said the Capitalist filly is due a win.

“She’s been competitive all four starts and she raced here at her second start finishing third so the experience of the course will help,” Mike said.

“She comes in to barrier three after the scratchings and that will also be in her favour and I’d say she will cope with the heavy track.

“She’s fit and well and this does look the chance for her to get off the mark so I will be disappointed if she can’t get the job done today.”

Trail Blazer runs in race eight over 2000 metres with John Allen aboard.

“He’s had the two runs back and although he’s drawn the outside it’s a small field and he’s out to his right trip,” Mike said.

“He’s won on the heavy so he’s got that in his favour and all things being equal then I’m expecting him to be hard to beat.”

Tonight at Pakenham we are represented by Madagascar Miss, Arctic Stone and Kentucky Ruler with the latter the first to go in race four for three-year-olds over 1600 metres and Robbie Downey aboard.

“He’s drawn the outside which is not ideal however, it’s a long straight run before they start to turn so it will give Robbie a chance to sort things out,” Mike said.

“He’s back in trip slightly from his last start and the soft track should not be an inconvenience.

“He’s particularly fit and been placed here - I’ve put the blinkers on him again to help him focus and with ordinary luck I can see him running well.”

Arctic Stone (pictured) is in race five over 1600 metres under Patrick Moloney and with just five rivals after scratchings.

“She’s very well and a consistent mare in form so she should be the one they have to beat,” Mike said.

“She’s holding her condition well and from barrier one Patrick should be able to dictate.

The form of her last start third at Sandown looks good for a race like this with the winner going to a Listed race in Adelaide at its next start so our mare gets a good chance to add another win tonight.”

Madagascar Miss rounds out our day in race seven for fillies and mares over 1200 metres with Robbie Downey riding.

“It’s her second start this preparation and she’s fitter for the first-up run,” Mike said.

“She’s drawn nicely in five and I’m keen to press forward with her. It’s a handy race but it’s up to her tonight and I’m sure she will be competitive.”
