MY DIAMONDS GALORE ON SHOW AT SANDOWN

Just two runners for us today with My Diamonds Galore and Quesadilla travelling to Sandown to race on the Hillside course.

My Diamonds Galore (pictured) is in race four, the benchmark 70 handicap for fillies and mares over 1600m where she will be ridden by Mark Zahra.

The Tavistock four-year-old won a similar race over 1500m at Sandown two starts back and Mike Moroney is anticipating another competitive effort today.

“She’s nice and bright and has trained on well since her last start,” Moroney said.

“She’s drawn barrier seven which might make things a bit awkward - ideally she can get some cover and then produce late.

“It’s a typically even looking mares benchmark race but with ordinary luck I think she’s a really good each-way chance.”

Quesadilla is in the last race of the day, the benchmark 70 handicap over 1000m with Jye McNeil in the saddle.

The Dream Ahead four-year-old made ground in the home straight finishing second over 1000m Cranbourne last time out and scored a comfortable win at Sandown over 1000m tow starts back.

"She's racing well and holding her condition," Moroney said.

"She's also trained on well and I can't fault her - my one little concern is this does look a race of several chances including Modear who she beat home two starts back.

"She's drawn well and I'm sure she will be hard to beat."
