GEELONG RUNNERS ON MONDAY

Two runners for us at Geelong on Monday where the overnight rain sees us racing on a heavy track.

Hello Sunshine runs in race three, the 4YO+ Maiden Plate over 1347m with Jordan Childs riding from barrier five in a field of six after scratchings.

The Jimmy Choux mare finished fourth last time out over 1112m at Geelong and Mike Moroney says should be suited by the step up in distance.

“The track is down to a heavy (9) but if there is no more rain it will dry out and she has some form on a Heavy (7) track,” Moroney said.

“She’s fit enough now and I’m expecting the step up in trip in a race which has been decimated by scratchings.

“Looking at the field it looks a winnable race for her and she’s ready to run well so I’m looking for her to step up and run well today.”

My Diamonds Galore is in race five, the Fillies and Mares Benchmark 58 Handicap over 1765m with Jordan Childs aboard from barrier two.

“By the time her race comes around we’d be expecting the track to have improved a little and this mare has won on a soft track in New Zealand,” Moroney said.

“The field has fallen away and it looks an even lot. I’ve added a tongue-tie and she’s hard fit so she gets her chance today provided it’s run at a genuine tempo.”
