Day and night runners for on Friday at Terang in the afternoon and then Moonee Vally later on in the evening.

Midnight Magic runs in race six at Terang, the benchmark 58 handicap over 1400m with Billy Egan in the saddle.

Mike Moroney has made an important gear change to the daughter of Jimmy Choux for today’s race, her third in Australia.

“She disappointed us last start at Kilmore but we’ve added a tongue tie to her since and she’s been a lot better in her work, which has always been good anyway,” Moroney said.

“She’s out of barrier four in what looks a pretty competitive race for Terang on a Friday.

“The draw is a positive and if she runs up to the way she has been working then I’m expecting a much better effort today.”

Shilo Lass (pictured) is in race nine, the benchmark 58 handicap over 1200m and she too has drawn nicely in barrier three with Damien Thornton to ride.

The Foxwedge four-year-old is fitter for today’s race following a first-up run at Ballarat.

“I blame myself for the first-up run as she wasn’t fit enough but she’s a lot better going into today,” Moroney said.

“She’s come on a lot from that run and she looks terrific

“The draw helps her for certain and we can ride her more forward - if she can run up to her best then I’d say she will be hard to beat.”

At Moonee Valley The Delphi and Nerve Not Verve both run in race seven, the benchmark 78 handicap over 2040m.

Lachlan King’s claim reduces The Delphi’s weight to 56.5kg however he has drawn wide in nine in the field of 10 after scratchings.

“It’s his second run this preparation and he’s better for the first-up run,” Moroney said.

“He’s certainly come on for the run which was his first after a long break.

“Depending on how he jumps away it would be nice to press forward and put him in the race if possible and I’m anticipating a better run from him tonight.”

Nerve Not Verve will now be ridden by Damien Oliver with Michael Dee unavailable and she jumps from barrier six.

“She’s just had no luck with barriers but tonight gives her a chance after making the field with the scratchings,” Moroney said. “She’s hard fit now and while it’s a competitive race she gets a chance tonight for sure.

“Ideally I’d have liked to see the track a bit softer but it is what it is and she’s there to run well in a competitive race.”
