TWO DEBUTANTS FOR US AT GEELONG

Two runners for us at Geelong on Sunday with both on debut.

Cutting Loose runs in race two, the 2YO Handicap over 1212m with Michael Dee riding and to jump from barrier three.

The son of Spirit Of Boom pleased Mike Moroney with his latest jumpout at Flemington.

“He’s had a bit of practice at home and showed us natural ability,” Moroney said.

"He's come back in better shape since we gelded him and he's got better with each jumpout he's had.

“It’s always difficult to be confident first time at the races but he’s shown us enough to suggest he can be competitive.

“There’s a bit of form in the race and whatever he does I'm expecting him to improve on but I’m expecting him to run well.”

Nube Viajera (pictured) runs for the first time in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1312m and Michael Dee in the saddle.

“It’s taken him a little while to get there but he’s here now as a four-year-old,” Moroney said.

“He’s surprised us a bit with the speed he’s shown in his jumpouts, being by Lucas Cranach, and we’ve kept the cross-over nose band on him for today.

“There’s some spruiks around for a couple of the other first starters but otherwise it doesn’t look an overly strong race.

“I’ll be happy if he has a pleasant experience and if he copes with the situation then I will not be surprised to see him run well as he is a tough horse and improving all the time.”
