TWO CHANCES AT ECHUCA ON TUESDAY

Two runners for us on Tuesday as Bellows and The Boy Wonder travel north to Echuca.

Bellows runs in race one, the Maiden Plate over 1000m with Jordan Childs to ride and jumping from barrier 10.

It is the second start this preparation for Bellows, who finished third at Wodonga first-up over 1200m in November and Mike Moroney has kept the son of Zoffany on the fresh side.

“We’ve kept him fresh as it is only 1000m and he looks great,” Moroney said. “His work has been very good and unless there is something something exciting amongst the unraced brigade, if our horse has luck in running then I think he will be hard to beat.”

The Boy Wonder is in race four, the Benchmark 58 Handicap over 1600m and jumping from barrier four under Jordan Childs.

The Boy Wonder is dropping back in trip after finishing fifth over 2200m at Bendigo last time out on November 28.

“We’ve taken the nose roll off and added a tongue tie to help him,” Moroney said. “He’s another we’ve deliberately kept on the fresh side and his work has been good.

“It does not look the strongest o races so if he shows up with his best form then he should be hard to beat.”
