MIKE Moroney is still doing his "homework" on English import Glass Harmonium.

Glass Harmonium answered a couple of questions with his gallant third in the Doomben Cup but there remains a lot of mystery about the grey.

Moroney was at least relieved Glass Harmonium suffered no serious injury was being galloped on from behind in the early stages of the Cup.

After the incident Glass Harmonium overraced and took off with a huge lead.

"He had a couple of nicks to his off hind, one above the hock and one down low and to the side," Moroney said.

"He did fire up after that and we are going to try a few different things to see if we can help keep him settled.

"I'll try him in a crossover nose band on the track and see how he reacts to that.

"At this stage he will be lining up in the Eagle Farm Cup in a fortnight.

"Then we'll keep him pottering along before we gear up for the spring.

"He's a stallion and we don't want to put him in the paddock.

"With these imported horses I think it's best to keep an eye on him and try to get him acclimatised."

Glass Harmonium will be back into battle with Doomben Cup winner Scenic Shot in the wfa Eagle Farm Cup over 2200m on June 4.

Moroney is likely to run his Stradbroke sprinter King Pulse in the Doomben 10,000 on Saturday.

King Pulse was below peak fitness but still ran well when fifth in the BRC Sprint.

"I was really happy with his run given he'd had an interrupted preparation," Moroney said.

"If he backs up in the 10,000 he can then have a fortnight going into the Stradbroke."

Moroney will start Viking Hero and Tinseltown in the Premier's Cup on Saturday,.
