GEAR CHANGE FOR WHOSYOURHOUSEMATE

Rainbow Thief and Whosyourhousemate represent us on a heavy track at Geelong on Friday.

Rainbow Thief runs in race four, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1312m with Michael Dee to ride from barrier two.

The son of Rock ’n’ Pop pleased on debut when finishing fifth at Geelong last month and has pleased Mike Moroney since.

“He’s done well since and I’m pleased with him,” Moroney said. “He’s nice horse and I think he has a future.

“He handled a heavy track at his first start so the conditions today should not be a problem and he’s drawn to get the run of the race.

“He’s a horse I’ve got a bit of time for and I’m expecting him to run well in a race that does have a little bit of form in it.”

Whosyourhousemate runs in race eight, the BM64 Handicap over 1512m with Jamie Mott riding from barrier 13 after scratchings.

The import finished fourth over 1700m at Geelong last time out and Moroney has made some changes for Friday’s race.

“The draw is no help but on a heavy track it might not be a bad thing by the time his race is on,” Moroney said.

“I’ve dropped him back in trip and put the blinkers on him - I was a little bit disappointed at how he finished off last start even though he wasn’t beaten far.

“I can’t fault his condition and he has worked terrific in the blinkers so it’s up to him - I’d say he’ll press forward from the draw and then with ordinary luck he can figure in the finish.”
