CRANBOURNE NIGHT MOVES

Three runners for us at the Cranbourne evening meeting on Friday ahead of a busy Saturday.

Seminoles, Buffalo Bill and Outback Warrior are down to start with Seminoles the first to go in race three, the Maiden Plate over 2025m with Jason Maskiell to ride.

Seminoles has placed at his last two starts and looks ready to break through according to Mike Moroney.

“He’s taken a bit of time to work it all out but his four runs this preparation have all been decent, particularly last start where he came from second last before the home turn,” Moroney said.

“He’s trained on well and we’ve taken the near side blinker off him for tonight. In a big field of maidens I’m expecting him to be finishing off well.”

Buffalo Bill is in race seven, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 2025m with Nikita Beriman to ride from barrier one.

The three-year-old son of High Chaparral stepped up in distance at his last start when third over 2000m at Ballarat and Moroney expects him to be better suited here.

“The inside barrier might not be an advantage but it does give him the option to sit a bit closer,” Moroney said.

“We gave him a little bit of time to get over the last run and he’s done really well and I cant fault him.

“His work has been good and if he can put it all together then I think he is a winning chance in what looks an even race.”

Outback Warrior (pictured) is in race eight, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1200m with Harry Grace reducing his weight to 59.5kg from barrier seven after scratchings.

“The form out of his last race is looking better now with the winner going on to win at Morphettville,” Moroney said.

“I think the 1200 metres should be ideal and he’s trained on well since, we haven’t had to do a lot with him since the Warrnambool run.

“It’s a handy enough race and he’s the highest-rated in it so all things being equal I think he’s a definite winning chance.”
