IT'S A B DAY AT BALLARAT

Bill The Bee, Buffalo Bill and Brutal Power are our runners at Ballarat on Tuesday after a day off on Monday.

Bill The Bee is the first to go in race six, the Class 1 handicap over 1600m with Jordan Childs to ride from the outside barrier.

The son of So You Think won his last start over 1406m at Benalla and has drawn wide however, scratchings have reduced the field to eight and Mike Moroney is happy to take his chance.

“There’s only eight left in it now so I’m happy to let him run, particularly as the rail is in the same position as it was for the last meeting,” Moroney said.

“I’m happy with the horse, he’s trained on nicely since his last start and the way the race has panned out i think he’s there with a real winning chance.”

Buffalo Bill is in race eight, the benchmark 64 handicap over 2000m with Jordan Childs to ride.

The son of High Chaparral won his maiden over 1606m at Benalla at his last start and has pleased since.

“He’s still a work in progress and is up in class which is a little query,” Moroney said. “I’m very happy with the horse and can’t fault him.

“He’s worked up well and I’m happy to let him take his chance as I do feel he’s up to this level and can be competitive.”

Brutal Power (pictured) rounds out the day in race nine, the benchmark 64 handicap over 1400m with Jordan Childs in the saddle.

A winner first-up over 1100m at Bendigo three weeks ago, Brutal Power has also drawn out but Moroney sees it as a positive.

“By that time of the day it might be the place to be,” Moroney reasons. “It’s only a small field after scratchings so it’s a nice race for him.

“He will still need some luck from the outside but there still looks a bit of speed in the race so I’d say they should spread out a bit.

“We’ll wait and see how the day is racing before we make a decision on how we ride him and then make a plan from there.”
