A BUSY SUNDAY FOR THE TEAM

A busy day for the stable with four runners at Sale on Sunday.

Bishop Rock is the first to go in the Two-Year-Old Maiden over 1212m with Nikita Beriman to ride from barrier four.

It will be the third start this preparation for the son of Redoute’s Choice.

“The good barrier is a definite help,” Mike Moroney said. “Plus I’ve put the blinkers on him to help him concentrate.

“He’s had a jumpout in them and he coped with them fine.

“It’s a strong race but we’re really happy with our horse and he’s there to run a nice race.”

Vantastic runs in race three, the Maiden Plate over 1427m with Nikita Beriman riding from barrier nine.

The son of Animal Kingdom made up good ground on debut to finish fourth at Pakenham last month.

“He was very new on debut but ran well and he’s definitely come on for it,” Moroney said. “Unfortunately the draw has not been kind so we will likely have to go back.

“I don’t think it is too bad however, he’s still quite new and working it all out and is a work in progress.

“Mentally and physically I think he’s still a bit weak but he’s got ability and with a quiet run then I will not be surprised to see him hitting the line hard.”

Outback Warrior (pictured) runs in race seven, the BM64 Handicap over 1212m with Jamie Mott to ride from barrier three..

“We’ve put the blinkers on him and that’s why we wanted a senior rider rather than use an apprentice to claim,” Moroney said.

“His work in blinkers has been excellent and if he runs up to his gallop on Tuesday then I think he will be hard to beat.

“He just needs to do things right in the run and replicate his trackwork.”

Barthelona rounds out the day in race eight, the BM84 Handicap over 1427m, jumping from barrier six with Nikita Beriman to ride.

“He’s struck a strong race and his cause will be helped if we can get some ease in the ground,” Moroney said.

“He looks terrific, is working well and we can’t fault him - as I said it is a tough race but his best is good enough to win it.”
