Three runners for the team at Flemington on Saturday following the Cup success of Vengeur Masque at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Hang Man, Alburq and Chapada are racing with Hang Man the first to go in race two, the Lawn Handicap over 2000m where he will be ridden by Damien Oliver.

It is the third run this preparation for the import, which finished runner-up at Sandown at his last start and Mike Moroney is anticipating a faster pace on Saturday.

“It just didn’t work out last start, getting back off a ridiculously slow pace and he had too much to do,” Moroney said.

“Back at Flemington I’m expecting things to be different.

“We could not be happier with the horse, his work on Tuesday with Vengeur Masque was excellent and if we get a truly run race, with Ollie on board, I’m expecting him to be hard to beat."

Alburq is the next to go in race four, the Talindert Stakes (Listed) over the straight 1100 metres with Jordan Childs riding from barrier five.

The son of Rubick has been placed all three of his starts and Moroney is anticipating another forward showing.

“I think the draw is ok and it will not surprise me if they race close to the inside,” Moroney said. “There looks a good bit of early speed in the race which should suit and he’s had some practice down the straight in a jumpout.

“I’m really happy with him and he looks particularly well - it looks a pretty open affair and I’m thinking he will run well with ordinary luck.”

Chapada(pictured) runs in race seven, the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes over 1400m where he will be ridden by Damien Oliver and jump from the outside barrier 16.

It is the first start for the son of Bullet Train since his luckless third in the Victoria Derby last November.

“It’s disappointing about the barrier but that’s the way it goes,” Moroney said.

“He’ll just have to go back and his chance will be if they run along hard then he can be running home hard.

“He’s in good order and keeps improving - his work has been good, his jump outs have been good and he’s ready to go so it’s a good place to start him off.”
