RUNNERS IN TWO PLACES ON FRIDAY

Runners at Echuca in the afternoon and Moonee Valley at night for the stable on Friday.

Parsifal heads to Echuca while Rhythm To Spare and Strike Force are closer to home at Moonee Valley.

Parsifal has been ready to race this week but been thwarted by wide barriers and has again drawn wide in the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1412m with Michael Poy reducing his weight to 59kg.

“He’s drawn wide again but with only 10 in the race we felt he should take his chance,” Moroney said.

“He’s drawn eight of nine after the scratching and it’s amazing how sometimes you can get runs like this but that’s the way it is so we just have to take our medicine.

“It’s a handy enough race with some nice form in it but I do feel our horse will be hard to beat.

“He’s certainly in good form and after two runs I think he’s ready to show his best so with ordinary luck I’m expecting him to run extremely well.”

Rhythm To Spare (pictured) runs in race four at Moonee Valley, the Open Handicap over 2040m with Patrick Moloney to ride from barrier seven.

“It’s a strong field which has surprised us a little,” Moroney said.

“We’re aware he’s been up a while and this could be his swansong. We’d decided early on that this campaign will be his last one.

“We’ve given him some time between runs but he’s particularly fit and it would be terrific to see him go out a winner.”

Strike Force runs in the last race, the Benchmark 84 Handicap over 1500m and will jump from barrier 11 of 12 after scratchings under Patrick Moloney.

“The wide barrier is not a help but the key will be for him to get out quickly and hopefully get across,” Moroney said.

“There looks to be a bit of speed in the race and it does not look as strong as his last race.

“He’s thriving on the preparation and if things can fall his way I can’t see any reason ahy he can’t go close to winning.”
