1.31 p.m. R3 6 Tiny Terror (3 g Shamexpress – Thora, by Pins) – Shafiq Rusof; debuts from barrier four in the $25,000 3YO 1100 metres, following a front running display that saw him win a 1000-metre trial here on 17 July, with Shafiq aboard, by nine lengths. A strong and naturally talented young horse, he should secure a prominent position and prove competitive. Fixed odds: $6.50 & $1.95.

2.39 p.m. R5 11 Sound Works (5 m Not a Single Doubt – Abu Zayan, by Mark of Esteem) – Shafiq Rusof; was awkward early and last before clocking the fastest final 600m (35.8) to finish third in the Rating 75 1400 metres on 14 July at Ruakaka, and ideally drawn in the $25,000 Rating 72 1400 metres. She races well here, the stable/rider combination picked up two wins last week at Matamata, and has sound each way prospects from barrier one. Fixed odds: $11.00 & $3.40.

3.14 p.m. R6 8 Resurrect (5 g Shinko King – Errant, by Jungle Pocket) – Cameron Lammas; raced keenly in front when running a notable third in the $35,000 Open 1200 metres at the last meeting here (21 July) and with blinkers off he contests the corresponding event. He finished second to Group One placed Ferrando (Fast ‘N’ Famous) here in December over 1200 metres, has good ability and improving fitness but meets a strong field. Fixed odds: $12.00 & $2.75.
