MILWAUKEE HEADS OUR CHANCES ON SATURDAY

Winning chances in two states on Saturday with Top Of The Range, Milwaukee and Play That Song.

Top Of The Range and Milwaukee are at Caulfield and Play That Song is north at Newcastle.

Top Of The Range is in race four, the Benchmark 84 Handicap over 1700m with Patrick Moloney in the saddle.

The son of Savabeel has been his own worst enemy at his last two starts finding interference and Mike Moroney is wanting some better luck.

“He looks well and is in good form and continues to work impressively,” Moroney said.

“We can't fault him going into this race which is similar to last start and if he is on his best behaviour and gets an ounce of luck at the right time then he can certainly win it.”

Milwaukee (pictured) is in race eight, the Benchmark 84 Handicap over 1200m where he is the topweight but will carry 59kg after the claim for Chris Caserta.

The four-year-old has thrived since his last start third over 1200m at Caulfield and pleased Moroney with his work.

“He’s another we couldn’t be happier with and has worked super leading into this race,” Moroney said.

“The horse that beat him last start is now out of the race and the key for us is the barrier - he has a far better draw than last start and with ordinary luck I think he is the horse they have to beat.”

Play That Song is looking for distance and runs in the Class 1 & Maiden Plate over 1875m at Newcastle where Koby Jennings will ride and jump from barrier six.

The daughter of Smart Missile made ground last start when runner-up over 1400m at Ballarat and Moroney is happy with the way she has settled in to life in Sydney.

“She has settled in very well and looks terrific,” Moroney said. “We’ve been looking for races over further with her and they have not been easy to find.

“This looks a suitable race and the big roomy track should suit her ideally and I am expecting her to run very well.”
