SHADOW FIGHTER AND PLAY THAT SONG RESUME AT BENDIGO

Nanita, Play That Song and Shadow Fighter represent the team in two races at Bendigo on Wednesday.

Nanita and Play That Song both run in race four, the 3YO Fillies Maiden over 1300m while Shadow Fighter is in race seven, the Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1000m.

Nanita pleased Mike Moroney when finishing third at Bendigo over 1100m when resuming three weeks ago and the daughter of Not A Single Doubt has done well since.

“She has trained on very well from her first-up run and I think she will appreciate the extra distance,” Moroney said.

“From barrier two she should get a very good run and I think she is a winning chance in what looks a very open race.”

Play That Song is resuming having last raced when unplaced behind subsequent VRC Oaks winner Pinot over 1800m at Flemington last September.

Moroney has taken the blinkers off Play That Song who comes into the race off the back of two jumpouts.

“Her jumpouts have been ok,” Moroney said. “But her work on Saturday morning was very good and sharp as ever.

“She looks very well and I’m just hoping that in the big field she can get a clear run. If she does then she is capable of running a cheeky race first-up.”

Shadow Fighter (pictured) is having his first start since completing a bleeding ban and has pleased Moroney in his build up.

“His jump out was very good and his work leading into this run has been excellent.” Moroney said.

“He’s drawn barrier one so with his gate speed I’d be expecting him to either lead or be camped behind the lead on the fence and be hard to beat.”

Patrick Moloney rides Nanita and Shadow Fighter with Jason Benbow aboard Play That Song.
