Three runners across the state for the stable on a Group I day at Flemington.

Radipole and Saracino are both in the same race at Flemington while Louisville Lip is set to run at Bendigo.

Radipole and Saracino are in race nine, the York Racecourse Handicap over 1400m. Radipole has drawn nicely in barrier three and will be ridden by Patrick Moloney whereas Saracino has not fared as well, out in 15 with Opie Bosson in the saddle.

Radipole (pictured) is resuming and Mike Moroney is delighted with the way the import has trained so far this preparation.

“He’s really prepped up nice for this and we’re really happy with him,” Moroney said.

“The barrier makes a real difference to him and I’m thinking he can settle in the first five or six.

“He needs to be able to flow and I’m a little bit concerned if the track comes up firm but the way he’s trained I think he can run a big race.”

Saracino was forced to face the breeze under 60kg at his last start at Sale and will race without a tongue tie on Saturday.

“Looking at the speed map perhaps the wide draw is not quite so bad but it’s not ideal,” Moroney said.

“The track will be as firm as he likes but he’s down in class and ready to run so we’ll let him take his chance.

“There’s no doubt if he takes his A-game he’d be the horse to beat but he’s not racing in that form so we will just have to see what he brings.”

Louisville Lip finished ninth on debut at Terang last month and he finds a small field in race three, the Maiden Plate over 1600m at Bendigo where he will be ridden by Jason Benbow.

“We’ve added a visor to him to help him settle,” Moroney said.

“His work has been satisfactory but he still wants to get things over and done with quickly so we need to get him to relax to be able to show his ability.

“The race does not look very deep and I expect him to run an improved race and if he happened to relax in the visor then he can run a big race.”
