STAYING TYPES AT KYNETON ON THURSDAY

Three runners for Ballymore Stables at Kyneton on Thursday.

Sweet Lullaby is the first to go in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1875m, followed by Dodge City and Pedro Ximinex who both start in race eight, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 2025m.

Sweet Lullaby is racing for just the second time and Mike Moroney has been content to give the daughter of Monaco Consul time to develop.

“She’s bred to be a stayer and she looks like a stayer so I’m looking forward to getting her out in trip,” Moroney said.

“She made up a little bit of ground at her first start over 1400m at Pakenham and the extra ground here will definitely suit her as she learns her craft.”

Brian Higgins will be aboard Sweet Lullaby who jumps from barrier eight.

Dodge City (pictured) and Pedro Ximenez are both by High Chaparral and find themselves in a winnable race according to Moroney.

“Very pleased with the way Dodge City is progressing,” Moroney said. “his last start was terrific and he’s really starting to furnish into a lovely horse.

“He had a little bit of a hiccup since that run at Pakenham but he’s jumping out of his skin now and I’m expecting him to run well.”

Pedro Ximenez is racing for the second time this campaign.

“He’s only lightly raced but we’ve given him time and I’m sure we’ll be rewarded,” Moroney said.

“He’s had the first-up run over 1400m at Pakenham and the trip today will suit as he builds up to getting over further.”

Jordan Childs is aboard Dodge City and Rhys McLeod is aboard Pedro Ximenez.
