Corey heads to NZ for Monaco Consul

Corey Brown knows the difference between a good horse and an outstanding one.
Which is why the Sydney jockey is making his first trip to New Zealand tomorrow.
Brown will fly into Auckland tomorrow night to partner glamour three-year-old Monaco Consul in the Group I Zabeel Classic (2000m) at Ellerslie on Saturday.
Brown's one mount on Monaco Consul produced a win in the Victoria Derby and he is keen for the partnership to become a permanent one.
"I think he's a pretty special horse and I don't want to lose the ride on him," Brown said.
"He obviously showed a fair bit when he won the Derby and potentially I think he's one of the best horses I've ridden.
Monaco Consul is part of a big few days for the stable. Also at Ellerslie we have Condescender having his second start - the promising two-year-old having performed nicely at debut.
Honest mare Tootsie is after more blacktype in the Listed Newmarket Handicap whilst Calatrava will appreciate a drop back in class after a solid last start sixth in the Gr.2 Avondale Cup.
Prince Of Wales has been looking for a bit more distance and the 2100m of the Gr.2 Great Northern Guineas will suit.
Another busy day at Bendigo on Monday with four runners kicking off with Beatboy in the third race, a 1300m maiden. He likes it a bit longer but he did show good promise when last in work and Sebastian Murphy has returned to riding in good form.
We saddle up first starter Dodge Tides in the same race - Luke Currie to take the ride. A $160,000 Magic Millions graduate, he is a son of Epsom Derby hero Quest For Fame. His dam, the stakes placed Tidal Rhythm - also dam of the Listed winner Feelers - is a daughter of the multiple Gr.1 winner Tidal Light.
We were very happy with Blue Sky Girl's latest run at Caulfield - "she just never runs a bad race," Michael said - and she looks well placed in the Country Showcase over 1500m.
Our other Bendigo runners is Nothingbutthetruth. A horse who has always shown staying ability in New Zealand, the son of Galileo is making his Australian debut and the 2400m is right up his alley.
