Chasing winners at Moonee Valley

Straight into action on Saturday with a runner in the opening event at Moonee Valley, Chase The Sun taking his place in the Club Leeds Footscray Handicap.
Aimed at this event, the seven-year-old ran a great race over 2000m at Flemington last start and the son of Pentire is all the more suited back to 2500m.
"He went really well when running on strongly over the shorter trip last time," said Michael Moroney, "and he is nicely weighted on the mininum. He looks a top each-way chance."
Craig Williams again takes the ride, having been aboard Chase The Sun on three occasions and each time finishing close up - including his last start second to the promising Miles Above.
Hopefully the stable can cheer home a running double with Bronislava lining up in the second race, the SAJ Catercare Handicap.
Boxing on well at big odds at Flemington last start, the five-year-old showed marked improvement on her previous run and Moroney expects her to run well at the Valley.
"She ran a long way better last start and being a Galileo the rise in distance should suit her."
Bronislava has only had run previous run over the 2040m, beaten just a short head in a similar Moonee Valley contest last spring. Nicholas Hall was aboard her last start and he again takes the ride.
Another two runners at Cranbourne on Sunday, kicking off with the promising Smoke 'N' Brandy in the fourth race, a maiden over 1600m.
Drawn nicely in barrier 7 with Nicholas Hall to ride, the son of Half Hennessy really caught the eye at debut - racing greenly but finishing off strongly for a second over 1412m.
"His first up run was a slight surprise," Moroney admitted and he has been extremely pleased with the four-year-old progress since.
"He has certainly trained on and he should prove very hard to beat."
Also a nice chance on Sunday is Don Sebastian who contests the eighth race, a 0-68 over 1600m.
An impressive first up maiden winner at Sale, the son of High Chaparral has had to be scratched a couple of times since - the gap between runs of some concern. But he has always been well regarded by the stable.
"He is a nice horse in the making," Moroney said, "and we expect him to go really well."
