A Friday double

What a great day Friday was for the stable - following on from the runaway debut victory of the promising King Pulse we also had Keeper Brown in easy winning form.
Jumping straight to the lead, the four-year-old son of Keeper was always in control of the ratings handicap over 1403m - racing away in the straight to win ears pricked by no less than six lengths.
Two runners, two very easy winners!
Raced by GKV Holdings (manager Ken Algie), the Gurners Bloodstock Company (Andrew Ramsden) and Harold Hansen, Keeper Brown was having only his second run this campaign.
A horse who has always displayed potential, he caught the eye with a first up fourth at Cranbourne and was better for it - "it was a good run," said Michael Moroney, "and he was fitter today."
Ready to head back to metropolitan company, Keeper Brown is a horse improving with maturity - "he has been lightly raced and not the soundest of horses," Moroney explained, "but he is getting better with age."

Keeper Brown was well rated in front by new stable apprentice Jordan Mallyon who was excited to win his first race for Moroney - "fantastic!" he enthused.
"The step up in distancewas always going to suit him," he said. "He felt very good during the running and was never going to lose - he just kicked and did it easily."
