Racing Everywhere!

We will be watching races everywhere this weekend, Ballymore Stables represented by runners at four different tracks in two days; Moonee Valley, Kembla Grange, Randwick and Yarra Valley.

Our busy weekend kicks off on Friday night with Our Valdivia (pictured) who has been freshened since being injured after jumping awkwardly from the gates at Sandown in early January.

A brave fifth on that occasion, the consistent Don Eduardo gelding "all but fell at the start," in the process tearing his hamstrings.

"It was quite nasty," Michael Moroney said, "but we have patched him up and hopefully he can bounce back to his best form."

Drawn nicely in barrier 3 in the Schweppes Handicap over 1533m, Our Valdivia will be partnered by his regular rider Jake Bayliss.

Meanwhile Christian Reith takes the ride on Lord Disick who contests the Adaptra Handicap, the second event on the Randwick card.

Whilst rising in class and distance, Lord Disick is equal favourite in early markets having shown so much promise as he has been making his way through the grades.

"He does not come in too well at the weights," Moroney said, "but he is an up and coming stayer who is looking particularly good at the moment."

Our Kembla Grange runner is Symphony Plays who ran just evenly at her Wyong debut a few weeks ago.

"She ran just well enough to warrant her a second chance over a bit more ground but she is yet to show a great deal in her jump-outs," Moroney said, noting that it may well be the Ad Valorem's final start if she does not measure up.

The stable has higher hopes for Habitual Offender at Yarra Valley on Saturday, the five-year-old expected to improve on his last start disappointment - unplaced and pulling up with atrial fibrillation.

"We are expecting an improved showing with the blinkers off," Moroney said, noting that every horse they have had with the same problem has won its next start - "we don't know why but it has happened four or five times!"

Drawn barrier four for Anthony Boyd in the De Bortoli Handicap, Habitual Offender on his best form is nicely placed at BM64 level.
