Daniela Rosa too fast

Breaking through at only her second start - and at her first run since an encouraging Bendigo debut last August - Daniela Rose was impressive racing away to a 2 3/4 length victory at Cranbourne on Friday night.

Showing good pace to sit second, the Dane Shadow three-year-old looked to be under a bit of pressure at the 400m but she responded well, winning in the style of a horse with plenty more to offer.

"She has always shown ability and it was nice to see her put it together to win first up," Michael Moroney said. "Hopefully it is onwards and upwards from here."

Purchased for Lib Petagna by Paul Moroney at the 2014 Magic Millions, Daniela Rosa was bred by Dean Fleming out of the placed Galileo mare Celestial Babe.

Served last spring by Written Tycoon having produced a Smart Missile colt in early November, Celestial Babe is a daughter of the triple Group One winner Ballroom Babe who produced six winners including the stakes winners Just Dancing, Tahni Girl and Hidden Dragon.

Whilst Michael and Paul are busy trying to secure future champions at Karaka (on day one buying a dashing Ocean Park colt), we have two runners midweek - Lord Disick in Sydney and Courageous Rock at Ballarat.

Due to jump from barrier eight after a couple of scratchings in the All Too Hard Handicap, the fifth race on the Randwick card on Tuesday, Lord Disick is looking to atone after an unlucky fourth at Canterbury last time out.

Held up for runs there, he was strong once clear and over 2000m looks suited. "He has trained on well," Anthony Feroce said, adding that "the bigger more spacious track should suit him better and he looks a good each-way chance."

Topweight in the Sportsbet Mobile Handicap at Ballarat on Thursday, imported galloper Courageous Rock (pictured) is suited up to 2200m after a game third over 1736m at Sale last time out.

"The step up in distance should really help him and we cannot fault his work,"
Feroce said. "He has a bit of a tricky gate but he will push forward and on his best form is a good chance."
