Brazilian Pulse proves too good for the boys

Promising filly Brazilian Pulse put her natural talent on display with a determined victory in the Highways Handicap at Sandown on Wednesday.
Settling a fair way back off the pace in fifth placing, the three-year-old swung widest at the turn and with each stride pulled ground off her rivals.
With 50m to go there were five horses across the track and it was she who dug deepest - a great effort considering that she was the only filly in the field.
"I asked her to be game and tough and she was," said jockey Craig Williams who was taken with Brazilian Pulse's will to win.
"Everytime I asked her to extened she really stuck her head out."
Michael Moroney was also pleased.
"We had her in at Caulfield on Saturday but she wasn't going to make the field so we elected to come here."
"It was hard to judge her first win because it was on very heavy going," he added, "but she had improved on the track since."
Noting that Brazilian Pulse "is bred to stay on her dam's side" - being from a prolific Aga Khan family - Moroney is looking forward to seeing how far she can go this preparation.
"We will keep pressing the button to see what she is up to," he said, adding that she will be nominated for the VRC Oaks.
Hopefully a good recent winning run will continue at Seymour on Thursday where we saddle up four runners.
The first of those is last start Geelong winner Nothingbutthetruth who takes his place in the fifth event, the Blue Ribbon Day Country Showcase.
"He probably could've won more easily last start but he did have a bit of a think when he got to the front," Moroney said - adding that a couple of gear changes have been applied, the shadow roll off and winkers on.
"He should prove hard to beat again."
Stayer He's All In resumes in the following event, the IAS.com Handicap. Better over more ground, he is having his first run since June last year and is on the comeback trail from injury.
Also first up from a similar lengthy break is Butwaittheresmore who lines up as topweight in the final race, the Centrebet Country Showcase.
"He is a good stayer resuming after a tendon injury," Moroney said, "but he does have a bit of gate speed so it would not be a surprise if he ran a cheeky race."
In the same race Schrapnel Gully rises in class but he is racing well. "His last run was good," Moroney said.
In other stable news, Monaco Consul continues to please and will make his next appearance in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington on October 2.
Last Wednesday's impressive Sandown winner Fairfield Flame meanwhile will attempt to gain a Caulfield Cup berth by contesting the Naturalism Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.
