Exciting filly Brazilian Pulse...

By Robert Windmill MELBOURNE, Oct 11 AAP

Exciting filly Brazilian Pulse will have her fourth jockey in as many starts in the Group One Thousand Guineas at Caulfield.

Michael Rodd, who has the mount on Wednesday, follows Mark Zahra, Craig Williams and Corey Brown on to the back of the daughter of Captain Rio who has two wins and a second from her only three starts.

"This is the fourth jockey change but that is just the way it has gone," trainer Mike Moroney said.

Zahra was on Brazilian Pulse when she scored by seven lengths at her Ballarat race debut on September 1 but his commitments to Sheikh Mohammed's Darley team led to Williams winning on her in midweek company at Sandown two weeks later.

Last start in the Edward manifold Stakes Williams jumped off to ride Sistine Angel who beat Brazilian Pulse in a photo finish when she was ridden by Brown.

Suspension has cost Brown the ride in the Thousand Guineas (1600m).
Sistine Angel would be the 15th filly to win the Manifold-Thousand Guineas double but Moroney believes Brazilian Pulse can turn the tables on Wednesday.

"She is a pretty professional filly and the only thing she did wrong at Flemington was when she got to the front she ran around a fair bit," Moroney said.

He said the wide barrier also worked against her.

"We had a tougher run and there wasn't much in it at the finish," Moroney said.

"I felt if our filly had gone straight from the 150 metres she might have held on but she wandered back to the fence through greenness."

"Last start was more about where she measures up. It looks as if she is going to measure to them so we have got a lot more confidence now."

Brazilian Pulse is $8.50 with TAB Sportsbet while Gai Waterhouse, who trained Toorak handicap winner More Joyous, is chasing her second Group One for the week with $4 favourite More Strawberries.

A last start second to Secret Admirer in the Group One Flight Stakes, More Strawberries heads the betting from Sistine Angel ($5.50) and Divorces (7) who disappointed when 11th in the Edward Manifold.
