Thursday racing heads to Bendigo and Ballymore heads to the meeting with three runners.

First up in the 1400m maiden is Pastorale Lass who is having her first run since early May.

"She is a staying filly resuming," Michael Moroney said, adding that "whatever she does she will improve upon."

Racing over 1400m, Pastorale Lass was placed over that trip at her debut at Ballarat in March and she has not been far away at any of her four starts to date.

Irish Ransom is a horse who has not had things quite go his way of late but Moroney is happy that everything seems to be going right for the four-year-old at the moment.

"He should run well," he said, noting that a step up to 1600m looks suitable at the gelding's third run this preparation.

Spectral Black (pictured) is the third of our Wednesday runners - the five-year-old having his first outing since a Pakenham second in May.

And he has been working nicely - "he is a chance first up," Moroney said, "there is a question mark about the trip being a bit short for him but he is forward enough."

Meanwhile at Moonee Valley on Friday night talented mare La Zuma is third up in the Fisher & Paykel Handicap over 1600m.

"She has drawn a terrible gate (barrier 12)," Moroney rued, "but the form around her is good and she is knocking on the door."

Group One placed in the Australasian Oaks in May, La Zuma will appreciate the step up to 1600m.

Ballymore is looking forward to feature racing at Flemington on Saturday - juvenile Say My Name, the VRC Derby bound Famechon and imported stayer Araldo all taking their place at headquarters.
