Sale duo

Wednesday sees Ballymore head to Sale with two runners - Murcielaga and Sagacious Flame contesting consecutive races late in the day.

Lining up in the seventh event, the Eastcoast Paint Place Lakes Entrance Showcase 0 - 64 Handicap, Murcielaga is having his first run since early May.

"He is really well," Michael Moroney said of the lightly raced four-year-old who raced below his best in three autumn runs.

"He is a horse we have always had a bit of an opinion of but he lost his way a bit last time in."

Since gelded, the son of Testa Rossa has pleased us in recent jump-outs and a bold showing is expected.

"He only has to run up to those trials to prove hard to beat," Moroney said.

Sagacious Flame also races at Showcase level, racing in the eighth event, the Eastcoast Mitre 10 Showcase 0 - 64 Handicap.

She ran nicely "without much luck" when resuming, finishing a close up sixth at Wodonga after being held up for runs at a vital stages.

"She should find winning form again pretty quickly," Moroney said of the mare who does have good second up form.

In other stable news, Saturday runners Octavia, Araldo and the VRC Derby bound Famechon all pulled up well whilst Rhythm To Spare is being closely monitored having suffered from cardiac arrhythmia.
