Revelator loves Matamata!

The lightly raced and talented Revelator (pictured) is one of our three runners at Matamata on Saturday and each of the trio - Mrs Neat and Kaptain Kirkup up the others - look to have excellent chances.

A two times winner from just nine starts, the four-year-old Revelator - a well-related son of the champion stallion Zabeel - tends to save his best for Matamata, both of his victories to date coming at that track.

"He is back from the mile to 1400m, the distance at which he won so well two starts back," Chad Ormsby said of the gelding who contests the sixth event on the card - the Richardson Racing Stable Handicap.

"His last run was still very good," he continued, "but the 1400m at this track is ideal and hopefuly he can maintain his 100% Matamata record."

Earlier in the day we saddle up Mrs Neat in the second race, the Tonezone 1600m.

"She is also back in distance," Ormsby said, "but we have put the blinkers on and she has been working better than she ever has - so we are hoping for a good result."

Kaptain Kirkup, who lines up in the fourth race - the Waikato Stud 1200m - found winning form when dropping back to this sprinting trip last start and he has trained on well since.

"He was back to his best at the 1200m and he is definitely a chance for the double," Ormsby said.

Each of our three Matamata runners have fared nicely in the barrier draw and we are hoping for a big day!
