Glass Harmonium resumes

Group One galloper Glass Harmonium spearheads our weekend's runners, the front-running grey taking his place in Sunday's feature, the $400,000 Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.

Having his first run since the Australian Cup in March, Glass Harmonium has since undergone surgery for a wind problem and has pleased the stable with his progress.

"You would think at Group One level over 1400m the others may be a bit sharp for him," Michael Moroney said.

"But in saying that he is a classy horse and if jumps away well from the inside gate he could create a bit of interest."

A horse who can be tardy away at times, Glass Harmonium is however at his best when leading and barrier one for Damien Oliver suits.

Earlier in the day we cheer on My Chicarita in the Thomas Sabo Plate and she looks suited by a rise in distance after a luckless run at Moonee Valley last time out.

"She looks very nicely placed," said Moroney - happy with barrier seven with Damien Oliver to ride.

Also up in distance - and in class - is exciting filly La Zuma who contests the fourth race, the TMB Printing Handicap.

Impressive charging home from well back to claim her maiden at debut over 1200m at Ballarat, La Zuma - a typical daughter of Zabeel - can still do a bit wrong.

"She is a really nicely filly," Moroney said, "but not a push-buttonn type. She has got real ability but her lack of experience is of some concern against the better fillies."

As she was at her first start, La Zuma will be ridden by Luke Currie and she is due to jump from barrier two.

In the following race, the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude, we saddle up Murcielaga who will tell us if he will better suited to a Guineas or a Derby preparation.

"He is our best colt," Moroney said of the son of Testa Rossa. Michael Walker takes the ride form barrier six.

Back a couple of days and Ballymore also takes a couple of runners to the Friday night meeting at Moonee Valley - kicking off with the import Picture Editor who resumes in the third event.

"He will probably need the run," Moroney said, adding that the Dansili entire is at his best over longer.

"And being a stallion he is pretty burly."

Having missed a bit of work due to a high temperature, Sabrage heads to the JRA Cup enroute to a crack at the Herbert Power Stakes during Caulfield Cup week.

"It was not our original plan," Moroney said - noting that Sabrage has run a couple of ordinary races at Moonee Valley.

We also take one - Red Eye Special - to Mornington on Saturday. The six-year-old, on the back of a last start game showing at Moonee Valley, lines up in the Listed R.M Ansett Classic.

"He is really well," Moroney enthused, "and he ran such a good race last time out - he should prove hard to beat."
