Sale Duo Set To Improve

Having his first run since his debut in May last year - in a Bendigo maiden won by the talented Craig - Comancheria has been coming along nicely at the jump-outs and with Daniel Stackhouse aboard we are hoping for a forward showing.

“He is in really good shape,” Glen Thompson reported, “and we are very happy with him heading back to the races.”

“His work has been good, his jump-outs have been good.”

“The 1400m is going to be sort of his best, he is the sort to get better as he gets over further but this race is a really nice starting point for him, especially from a good gate (2).”

“From there he should be able to get into the right spot and give himself every chance. Whatever he does he will improve upon but hopefully with luck in running he can show something today.”

In the following race Purple Prince is a chance to improve as he steps up to 1700m at his second run back from a spell.

Racing greenly when resuming over 1300m at Seymour, the Prince Of Caviar (pictured courtesy of Riverbank Farm) three-year-old has pleased us since.

“We are really happy with the way he has been working,” Thompson said, “and we think the distance is ideal second up.”

“He has a bit of a tricky gate (8) and we will just have to see how he jumps away and how things work out over the first 100m but Sale is a nice big track so he should get his chance.”

“We’d like to think that he can show something today and give us something to look forward to.”

Purple Prince was bred by the breeders of his sire and they were also very lucky owners of his superstar dam Black Caviar.
