The Autumn Sun half-brother to Grand Pierro is a cracker!

It was great to see the tough and classy campaigner Grand Pierro add a second stakes success to his already excellent record by claiming today's Listed Bagot Handicap at Flemington.

Ballymore has just a few shares left in a lovely half-brother to that winner of over $500,000 in stakes and here's some good news - he is a son of the outstanding young stallion The Autumn Sun.

Really catching the eye at last year's Adelaide Magic Millions where he was in the top six sellers, this imposing colt is a half-brother to another four winners including the stakes placed Indiscretion.

His lightly raced dam Le Societe by Anabaa did very well winning three of her seven starts. At her last three outings she took on smart ones in stakes company and was right in the thick of things on each occasion.

A grandson of the Listed New Zealand St Leger winning Zabeel mare Ritzy Lady whose daughter Snazzytavi won two Gr.1 races in 2024, he hails from a proven high class family.

All five runners bred on this The Autumn Sun/Anabaa cross are winners and his sire is also doing a great job with strains of Zabeel with four stakes performers including the dual Group winner Autumn Ballet amongst the first 14 winners bred this way.

"We have bought horses by The Autumn Sun all the way through," Michael said - "we are great believers in him and this is a great opportunity to race a Classic horse."

It was love at first sight for Paul Moroney at the sales, describing this colt as "a cracking staying type - absolutely gorgeous! He moves so well, like a panther. He has presence and is correct, quality colt."
