STYLISH STEPPING UP TO STAKES CLASS TODAY

Runners at Caulfield and Yarra Valley for us today including last start winner Stylish.

Stylish (pictured) runs in the last race at Caulfield, the Summoned Stakes over 1600 metres with Billy Egan riding.

“She’s trained on very well since her excellent win first-up and her piece of work on Tuesday was very pleasing,” Mike Moroney said.

“If the track gets to a soft rating then that will not inconvenience her.

“She’s up in grade and will need some luck from a wide draw however, she’s a filly on the up and it will be no surprise to see her run well at this level.”

Run Harry Run and Buffalo River run in the Kevin Heffernan Stakes over 1400 metres at Caulfield with Celine Gaudrey riding Buffalo River and Daniel Stackhouse on Run Harry Run.

“Run Harry Run doesn’t have any soft track form so we are guessing there if the rain arrives,” Mike said.

“I think he went out too hard in the Group One last start and today we’ll plan to drop in behind if we can from barrier two but we’ll keep an eye on the weather.

“That said he’s in good form but it is going to depend on the state of the track.

“Buffalo River is holding his condition well and although he’s out in nine out of q0 that’s not a bad thing for him,” Mike said.

“Everything is in good order with him and if it did get rain affected then that gives him a chance and he will find it easier today than last start in the Group One.”

Gunner has drawn the outside in his race over 1968 metres at Yarra Valley however the team are very happy with the way the son of Dundeel is progressing.

“He’s very well in himself, our only query is if the ground comes up soft,” Mike said.

The step up in trip should suit and with any sort of luck from the barrier I think he will go close to winning.”
