Three runners at Cranbourne today including Bankers Choice in the $500,000 Cranbourne Cup over 1600 metres with Daniel Stackhouse riding.

Mikw Moroney is again ruing a poor barrier for Bankers Choice.

“He has had no luck with the barriers and he jumps from nine out of 10 today,” Mike said. “They do tend to charge early from this start so there is a chance he can blend in without having to do much work.

“He looks fantastic and is working terrific but he’s just not bringing it to the races. If he did happen to deliver his A-game then he’s good enough to win and if we did happen to get the forecast rain a little earlier than predicted that will also suit.”

Tasman Park runs in the fourth race over 1300 metres with Jye McNeil to ride from barrier two.

“I do think this looks the right race for him,” Mike said. “He was bouncing and squealing this morning so he’s very well.

“From the barrier he should get the gun run and put himself in the first four which is a real plus around Cranbourne then it is up to him but he looks terrific and his work lately has been as good as I have seen from him.

“I think with luck in running he can win the race.” 

Mathletic runs in race 10 with Michael Dee aboard and drawn barrier nine.

"I was happy with his first-up run at Flemington over the carnival and he's done well since," Mike said.

"We're fitting him with a bubble cheeker today to help him and if we do get the forecast rain then that will certainly be in his favour.

"If he can reproduce the best of his European form then he will be hard to beat, especially if we get some rain."
