WEATHER WATCH AT BALLARAT

Fields Of Courage and Tasman Park are our runners at Ballarat today.

Fields Of Courage (pictured) runs in the sixth race over 1500 metres with Jye McNeil riding and co-trainer Glen Thompson is keeping an eye on the weather.

“There is rain forecast for this afternoon and we’re hopeful it arrives before his race because it will definitely be to his advantage,” Glen said.

“He didn’t appreciate the firmer ground last start and if the rain does not arrive and if the track gets upgraded we will likely scratch as we don’t want to risk him on a firm track.

“That said he’s done well between runs and we’re happy with him, if we get conditions to suit then he should be competitive and we’re hopeful he can bounce back.”

Tasman Park runs in the eighth race over 1400 metres and also with Jye McNeil to ride.

“He will also appreciate it if the rain arrives,” Glen said. “He’s drawn nicely and improved from his last start where he ran really well.

"As I said, if he can get conditions to suit then we are expecting him to run well again in a strong looking race but he is in good order and we think he’s a top each-way chance.”
