Tuscaloosa Chief races for the second time at Tatura today.

The son of Alabama Express is in the fourth race over 1980-metres with Billy Egan aboard and co-trainer Glen Thompson said the three-year-old has taken good benefit from his debut at Sandown early last month.

“He was a little bit keen first-up but he’s benefitted from the experience and has trained on well since,” Glen said.

“Although he is by Alabama Express he has always indicated to us that he will appreciate getting out over a bit of ground and he's bred for middle-distance on his dam's side so we will find out today.

“Billy was happy to stick with him, we’ve drawn nicely and although he’s an inexperienced young horse against some seasoned older horses the distance is what we are trying get a line on today so it will be interesting to see how he fares.”
