THREE RUNNERS LATE ON TODAY

Three runners for us at home on a Group One day.

Not An Option, Emissary and Milford compete on a track now in the soft range with Not An Option the first to go in race nine, the Bobbie Lewis Quality.

It is the first start this preparation for Not An Option who will be ridden by Patrick Moloney.

“He’s done well and we’re happy with him, he’s in good order, has worked well and his jumpouts have been solid,” co-trainer Glen Thompson said.

“Obviously it’s a strong race with a few chances but we are pleased with our horse and whatever he does today he will improve on as we look to get him out to 1400 metres.”

Milford and Emissary (pictured) both run the last race over 1700 metres with Blake Shinn to ride Milford and Declan Bates aboard Emissary.

“We are very happy with Milford,” Glen said. “He’s working well and his jumpouts have been excellent.

“From the draw ideally we’ll aim to ride conservatively but we’ll leave that up to Blake but if Milford runs up to his work and jumpouts then we expect him to prove hard to beat.

“Emissary is first-up after a long break and he’s pleasing us,” Glen said. “His work at home has been good and he was nice and strong on the course proper during the week.

“He’ll take good improvement out of today but we are really pleased with him and it’s a good starting point today as we aim up for the rest of the spring.”
