A SUNNY SATURDAY FOR US AT MOONEE VALLEY

Three runners for us at Moonee Valley on lovely sunny day starting with Peru in the first race.

Peru will be ridden by Ethan Brown for his second start this preparation and the three-year-old has pleased the team in the lead up.

“He’s done well for the first-up run and we could not be happier with him,” Glen said.

“It’s a strong looking race with five last start winners engaged but he’s drawn nicely in barrier one which will give us a chance to ride him a bit closer.

“Our only little query is his first time around the track but he looks great and his gallop on Tuesday was encouraging so with ordinary luck we expect him to be in the finish.”

Snapper runs in race five, the Chautauqua Stakes at Listed level over 1200 metres with Jye McNeil to ride.

“He loves the track and his last jumpout was excellent,” Glen said.

“We could not he happier with him leading into this. His best form is good enough to win and first-up, he will have a little bit of improvement in him but if he runs up to his work he will be competitive.”

Buffalo River (pictured) rounds out our day in race eight over 1500 metres with Damian Lane aboard.

“He’s nice and bright as usual, very well in himself and has improved from the first-up run,” Glen said.

“The scratchings have helped however he will still jump from the outside with a short run to the first turn which will make it awkward.

“He might just feel the pinch a bit late second-up over the trip but he’s in good order and he’s there to run well.”
