QUEEN TO DEBUT AT BENDIGO

Two runners for us at Bendigo today including imported filly Our Queen on debut.

The daughter of Night Of Thunder is in the second race over 1300 metres with Billy Egan in the saddle from barrier 11.

Mike Moroney is looking forward to getting Our Queen to the races.

“She’s a lovely filly with a pedigree so it’s great to get her started,” Mike said.

“Bendigo is a terrific track for her, the wide draw is not ideal however, we felt it more important for her to get started on a roomy track.

“She’s ready to go although whatever she does today she will improve on, especially as she is six months behind her rivals. She has a senior rider to help her and the main thing is to get her balanced and ensure she has a good experience.”

Spanish Idol resumes in race three over 1300 metres with Jamie Mott riding from barrier seven.

“We feel that he has come back stronger and is an improved physical,” Mike said. “His jump outs have been good and his work this week has been pleasing.

“We feel he will be better as he gets over more ground but this is a lovely starting point. This looks a handy maiden but look for him to finish off well and a placing is possible.”
