COEUR VOLANTE HEADS OUR SATURDAY RUNNERS

Runners at home and interstate for us today headed by Coeur Volante at stakes level in Queensland.

Coeur Volante (pictured) starts a new preparation in the Helen Coughlan Stakes at Listed level over 1200 metres with Blake Shinn riding.

The filly will jump from barrier six after scratchings and Mike Moroney is excited to get her started.

“We couldn't be happier with her,” Mike said. “Her jump outs have been very good and she has settled in so well at Eagle Farm.

“The plan is to have her running fifth or sixth one off as we doesn't want to give the likely leader Facile too big a start as she is one of the main chances.

“We are aware it is her first run against older horses and she has to carry the weight penalty but we feel she will be able to take that step. It is exciting to see her back at the races and begin her Qld campaign.

“We feel she is forward for her first up assignment and are confident she will be hard to beat."

At Caulfield we have Gregolimo and Stylish running with Stylish the first to go in the second race over 1600 metres with Declan Bates riding.

“We feel that four weeks between runs has helped her get over her trip to Adelaide,” Mike said.

“Her work onTuesday morning was very good and she has shown no signs that she has come to the end of her preparation.

“She has drawn ideally where she should be in the first four in running and we think she will be hard to beat.”

Gregolimo runs in the last race of the day and he too will be ridden by Declan Bates.

“We think Gregolimo has lots of pluses today as he will strip fitter, runs over 2000 metres where he has won three times and back on a good track,” Mike said.

“His work has been very good and is relaxing so much better in his work. We know he has a tricky draw but the scratchings have helped.

“Declan rode him well last start and if he has any luck in running we feel he is a strong winning chance.
